Environmental education project on climate protection and nutrition in Sicily

Thanks to a one-time grant from the BMU (EUKI programme) we were able to start a new environmental education project on Mount Etna: It is about climate protection through nutrition, according to the motto: local/ regional/ seasonal and - if possible - organic. The central activity is gardening in schoolyards. In addition, the children visit farms, and for some cities farmers' markets and exchanges of experts are organized. Before school activities, there are lessons in the classroom, and our international young ERASMUS volunteers help with all of this.

The first project year was successfully completed in September 2019. Thanks to the great popularity and active participation of the schools, we will continue the project in the following years.
